Blast from the Past: apologies: I've
just spotted my 'cock-up' from last week when I described the clip of
45231 as being available from the GCR section. I bet that fooled a few
of you! I have now added a clip of the B1 on 'Mince Pie' duty in Dec
2003. A really foul day (it had just stopped snowing) and I am hoping we
get some similar days this winter! |

Blast from the Past: a great weekend for filming
steam, but I decided that a whole day at the GCR for maybe 3 shots was a
waste of my time. This is thanks to the 2006 timetable and the
lunchtime diesels which are pushed by steam at this time of the year,
thereby adding insult to injury. I have therefore searched my archives
for a clip from happier days featuring the then newly restored Black 5
45231. I have also 'coloured up' the 76079 clip at Burrs.Never mind it will soon be time for the 'Santa trains' at the
Severn Valley! A further clip from the past will appear next week as I
'take to the rails', bound for York with Vintage Trains. |

Severn Valley: after a quiet day on the Severn
Valley, ironically I returned home with several noisy clips, 3 of which
I have put on the site. The sight of Bradley Manor, resplendent with
Erlestoke Manor's small tender, had already made the day worthwhile, but
46443's performance on the last train of the day was a real bonus. |

Mainline: I have added a clip of the Tyesley - Snowhill section of
the Shakespeare Express journey. This has again been uploaded to Yahoo video. I have now come to the conclusion
that Yahoo compress the files - hence the file size warnings
have been removed. The apparent departure in format should be seen as
'bonus' footage because I could never support files of this size from my
current bandwidth resources. Clips of normal run-past clips will
continue to be located on this site and will remain downloadable. |

Mainline: a very enjoyable trip on the
Shakespeare Express today and the opportunity to record the lunchtime
departure. Alas, I succumbed to the temptation to taking some on-board
footage on the return trip. The latter files are very large and have
been uploaded to Yahoo video. They can be reached from the Mainline
section of this website. Unfortunately the quality of the Yahoo
compression software is poor, so do not expect the usual standard. |

the Centenary Festival (Sat 27/5/06) when rain and wind made filming
conditions very difficult. However, the rain cleared from mid-afternoon

Great Central: some highlights from the Big
Four Festival (20/21 May). The Event was beset by foul weather, but this
did not detract from the splendid sights of Sir Lamiel and Green Arrow
gracing the line once again. |

Glos & Warwicks: a couple of clips of the
regular duo - 92203 and 7903. Resigned to a dull day, I was amazed when
the sun came out for a short period after lunch; what is more the trains
were due! |

Great Central: Diesel Gala today - hence the
visit to the Glos & Warwicks. However I did find time to pop over to the
line in the evening on the off-chance of a date with the glamorous Green
Arrow (rumoured to be running on the diner). Imagine my feelings when a
dirty old freight engine turned up instead. Fortunately I have a soft
spot for 8Fs and one of the clips of the new arrival is included on the
Great Central page. |
