The quality of the web-based media files used on this site is heavily
compromised. I have therefore produced DVDs for those who may be
interested in purchasing a high-quality version of the material which has
appeared on this site.
Important Note: the
DVDs do not contain any music or commentary. I believe in letting the
locomotives speak for themselves.
Steam Impressions: 2007 volume 1
The film is based upon material gathered during the period from January to
June 2007. Action is based exclusively upon preserved railways.
Highlights include the return of the Great Marquess at the Churnet Valley Railway
in January. During the same month there are
scenes from the highly successful Great Central Heavy Freight Gala
and the dramatic runs of Stanier Mogul 42968 the following weekend. A notable
performance by 4953 at the Keighley and Worth Valley followed in February
by the branch line Gala at the Bluebell. March saw some notable
action from the East Lancs, the usual "mega" West Somerset Railway Spring Gala,
featuring a visit by newly restored 34007 Wadebridge and 7802 Bradley Manor. The
Severn Valley Branch Gala in the same month featured a visit by Somerset and
Dorset Joint Railway no.88 and 4141 from the GCR. The East Coast Mainline
Festival at the North Yorkshire Moors and the excellent Cotswold Festival at the
Gloucester and Warwicks, featuring Green Arrow and Wadebridge, make up the
remainder of the DVD.

Steam Impressions: 2006 volume 2
The scenes were filmed during the period July to December 2006 and include a
variety of locomotives at mainly preserved locations. Please note that although
a number of the scenes have been shown on this website during the second half of
2006, many have not.
Highlights include action from the Great Central's Mail by Rail event in
July, the Severn Valley Gala in September featuring the two Big Red LMS engines,
the Yorkshire Moors Gala in October featuring the return of A4 Sir Nigel Gresley
and 49395's fraught climb up Grosmont Bank and the Keighley and Worth Gala in
October featuring 5690 Leander. As usual the Santa Trains on the Severn Valley
provided some spectacular lighting conditions.
